how volunteering unites people together

the action of volunteering is the desire to help the world become a better place. volunteering connects people to one another as well as to the issues facing their communities. if you sit down and really think about it, volunteering is one of the best ways to bring people together. it’s where we see different races, ages, religions and genders unite for a common cause. think of how sports can unite a plethora of fans around the world. language barriers become obsolete because the one commonality between all sports fans is the love of the game.

that’s why a love for volunteering can do the same by impacting the lives of many people.

studies have shown that volunteering is immensely beneficial to your mental health. you feel more socially connected from engaging with so many people. volunteering can also lead to a greater sense of purpose. appreciating the position you’re in in life and learning to give back to those in need is one of the highest forms of care.

placing yourself in the shoes of people who struggle to attain even the most basic care can help you realize how lucky you are to be in the position you’re in. it’s all about perspective. sure, we all go through tough times, but volunteering can provide a better understanding of the difference between minor complaints compared to real-world struggles.

it may feel like one person volunteering their time for a greater cause may not be making a difference. but remember that you are part of a whole team dedicated to the same cause.

we can. we will.
